Frankston business scoops two award wins
Local business of five years, Quest Frankston and Quest Narre Warren, has been announced as the winner for two prestigious awards at the Hotel Motel and Accommodation Association (HMAA) Victorian Award for Excellence, held on Friday 30 October at a gala dinner.
Karen Watson, Sales & Marketing Executive took the top spot in the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Sales and Marketing’ category for her work for Quest Narre Warren and Quest Frankston. Her colleague Sarah Mackenzie, Quest Frankston’s Receptionist, received the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Front of House’ award. It is the second consecutive year that Quest Frankston has won the Front Office title.
Kumar and Jey Vasantha, franchisees and Directors of Quest Frankston and Quest Narre Warren, were thrilled by the result.
“We are extremely proud of Sarah and Karen. This prize recognises not just the properties dedication to providing guests with outstanding service experiences, but also the strength of Frankston/Narre Warren as a local business hub.
The majority of Quest customers are business travellers. We service a lot of travelling executives who use the apartments as a long-term base for doing business in the area…and of course, to tee off at the nearby golf-courses!” Kumar said
”Families also choose to stay with us during the weekend and holiday period. The resort style property is the only eco-friendly accommodation in the area, which more and more guests find appealing.”
Kumar said that the role his two rising stars played in the business was vital.
”Being a regional hub, we are kept very busy throughout the day and long into the night. Guests expect their requests are met efficiently and with a smile. It can be stressful at times, but our staff always do their best – and their best is clearly of a very high standard. It’s wonderful to have their hard work applauded.”
Karen Watson, winner of the Sales & Marketing award (also given for her efforts at the Vasantha’s Quest Narre Warren property) said the accolade was a welcomed surprise.
”I’ve been in the role for a little over 12 months, so I wasn’t expecting to win. I thought being a finalist was enough of a commendation, but to take out the top spot...I couldn’t be happier. It’s inspired me to keep giving it my all. Who says you need to be in a city job to be recognised for your efforts?”
The HMAA Victorian Award for Excellence was produced with the support of Host Plus, AAA Tourism, American Express, Westpac Business, MBF Health and OAMPS to acknowledge Australia's finest properties and exceptional staff.
